CARL GRESHAM has worked in teh Bradford area all of his life - and he's very old these days! He started his working life working as a salesman in various record departments simply because of his love of music..Along the way he started working as a DJ/Compere in local and northern venues including The Gaumont, The Majestic, The Silver Blades Ice Rinks in both Bradford and Liverpool and the only (is was claimed?) upstairs "Dungeon" Night club situated in Westgate - and the building is still there! A chance to work as Tom Courtenay's Stand-in for the film being shot in Bradford "Billy Liar" got him the sack from his job as Record Department manager at the Co-Op. And by that time he'd made friends with the local Show-Biz writer for the "Telegraph & Argus" Peter Holdsworth who ran a front page story about Carl getting the Job. They took a photograph of Carl and Tom at the Midland Hotel and Courtenay told Carl that if the picture and story were printed he'd be sacked..it was and Carl was sacked. The Gresh still has a radio show on Bradford Community Broadcasting every Sunday at 11-00am (between Mid-April and Mid-September) and repeated
